Prolific Prep Crew The Grind Session Los Angeles Team Analysis
Style of Play:
Prolific Prep plays at a fast frenetic pace in transition. They have multiple ball-handlers and leak-out options. Their ball-handlers are quick and explosive, change speed and direction, and being bigger guards they use their frame and body to their advantage shielding defenders off. When hunting for offense, they can either get into dribble pull-up jumpers or go all the way to the rim. Their leak-out players are quick, run the floor well, and fill the lanes allowing them to outrun opponents and get easy shots inside, complementing the ball-handler in transition and giving them options. They have lob threats with good hands and athletic above the rim finishing. This pace benefits them while speeding up the opponent, who doesn't have the athletes Prolific Prep has to match this level of speed and playstyle. In the half-court, they have the guards and bigs to run more pick and roll than other teams. They have big guards and shot makers making their pick and roll tough to stop. Their bigs set hard picks, don't shy away from contact, and understand screening angles which frees up the pick and roll ball-handler for a high-percentage quality shot. They are quick and mobile rolling to the rim making them scoring threats in the paint when the shot isn't there for the pick and roll ball-handler. Prolific Prep is an effective back to the basket post up team. They have the size to take advantage of switches and mismatches at the guard and center positions. Their players have the strength, physicality, footwork to get deep post positioning and back down smaller defenders for high-percentage shots. They have players who play off each other well off the ball. They have willing cutters and players who constantly move along the three-point line, forcing defenders to chase them around. They run off-ball back screens for cutters to free them up. Their cutters are lob threats and athletic above the rim finishers. Their shooters have the balance and footwork to be both standstill shooters and movement shooters.
They are a high-level rebounding team with the big lineup they run. A big part of their offense is getting extra possessions and second-chance opportunities, leading to multiple shots on a single possession. They have bigs opposing teams can't match up with size and their non-bigs have a high motor crashing the glass. They turn extra possessions into points with a nice finishing touch in the paint, putback dunks, or by resetting the possession and getting a good shot in scramble situations.
On the defensive end, they force turnovers and speed up other teams creating transition offense from their defense and getting easy shot opportunities. After scoring, they run a full-court press and deny inbounds passes to force turnovers or pick up the ball-handler full court; they're physical and wear them out making it hard to advance the ball. In the half-court, they hedge and double team pick and roll ball-handlers making it tough for them to pass through their size and length. Their bigs protect the rim and have timing and instincts on shot blocking. They are disciplined jumping straight up vertically to block shots without fouling. When defending three-point shooters, they are quick on rotations and closing out forcing tough contested three-point looks.

Player Analysis:
Caleb Holt
Position: G
Height: 6 Feet 5 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2026
Uncommitted
Caleb Holt as a guard does multiple things well and isn't elite at one specific skillset. He can operate in transition as a ball-handler and on leak-outs. When leaking out he is quick, explosive, and fills the lanes well allowing him to play at the fast frenetic pace his team likes. He either gets all the way to the rim, gets catch and shoot pull up threes in transition, or gets into a dribble pull-up jumper. With his strength he initiates contact, finishes through it, and gets to the free-throw line. He operates more as an off-ball role playing guard rather than a primary creator or decision-maker. He plays with a high basketball IQ and stays within his role, though his current usage largely reflects a stacked roster. As a pick and roll ball-handler he is quick at navigating around the pick, getting to his spot, and getting his shot off. Off the ball, he can operate as a cutter and catch and shoot three-point shooter. He cuts well along the baseline, sneaks behind the defense, fluidly comes around back screens off the ball, and locates open space in the paint for high-percentage looks. He is also a lob threat who shows good hands to catch and finish difficult lob passes. To get his catch and shoot three-point looks, he constantly moves without the ball along the three-point line making it exhausting for defenders to chase him around. He can be a movement shooter with the balance and footwork he displays getting into that shot. When shooting threes off the dribble and on the catch he has a quick release, fluid shooting mechanics, and is comfortable operating in both situations.
As a passer he can set up his teammates in transition, in the pick and roll, and off dribble penetration and drive and kick. In transition, he finds teammates leaking out with a quick accurate outlet pass, giving them easy fast-break points in the paint before the defense can get down, making him a catalyst for Prolific Prep's transition offense and pace. He finds the roller at the rim quickly for a high-percentage shot which lets him execute quick pick and roll actions with a strong two-man game. In drive and kick situations he gets deep in the paint, attracts multiple defenders, and finds the open catch and shoot three-point threat for a high-percentage shot.
As a bigger guard, rebounding comes naturally to him. He uses a relentless motor to hunt offensive rebounds creating extra possessions and second-chance opportunities for his team. He can convert putbacks being an athletic above the rim finisher.
On the defensive end, his main skill is forcing turnovers through steals and deflections, fitting his team's defensive identity. He tries to pick up from the backcourt and apply resistance. Although he has the body and physicality to bother smaller guards, he struggles to get into a defensive stance and stays too upright, leaving him susceptible to quickness and speed.
Bruce Branch III
Position: SG/SF
Height: 6 Feet 8 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2026
Uncommitted
Bruce Branch III is aggressive looking to score and hunt for shot opportunities. He operates as both a leak-out guy being quick to get down the floor and outrun opponents, and a transition ball-handler after grabbing a defensive rebound and pushing the pace. He is quick, explosive, has big strides, and uses his body to shield off defenders. When he isn't scoring in transition as a ball-handler he creates looks for teammates rim running or leaking out for shots. In the half-court, he has the potential to be a three-level scorer with the ability to create his own shot from inside, mid-range, and three-point range. He can create separation from defenders with a step-back jumper. He has moments as a big guard in the pick and roll where he gets to his spots and rises up to shoot. He is effective off the ball moving well and relocating to open space along the three-point line to create higher-quality shot opportunities. On catch and shoot threes he has a quick release, fluid shooting mechanics, and uses his size to shoot over smaller defenders closing out on him. He takes advantage of switches and mismatches posting up smaller defenders and sealing them off for shots in the paint with his size and physicality. He is an option that his team can utilize in the post.
On defense despite lacking lateral quickness he is an effective one on one defender who moves his feet well and plays physically which makes up for his lack of footspeed. As a team defender, he is quick on rotations and closes out with intention. He has the length to disrupt passes and get his hands on them, or force tough contested shots and block them.
Davion Adkins
Position: PF/C
Height: 6 Feet 9 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2026
Committed to University of Kansas
Davion Adkins is a big who can be used in a variety of situations. He can be used in the pick and roll as a roll man setting good hard picks and generating switches into favorable matchups for the pick and roll ball-handler, making him someone who can get a good amount of screen assists. He can roll to the rim or slip picks and use his mobility and quickness to find open space for high-percentage shots inside. He can also operate as a back to the basket post up big. He has the strength, physicality, footwork, and size advantage to get deep post positioning and back down smaller defenders. He is the best post up threat on Prolific Prep. He is an effective cutter from the top of the key and the wings or backdoor.
He gets extra possessions and second-chance opportunities for his team while limiting them for opposing teams as a high-level rebounder. With the relentlessness he displays on the offensive glass, he can get multiple shot opportunities on a single offensive possession. He has a nice finishing touch on putbacks going back up for the shot attempt or finds teammates after grabbing the rebound for quality looks. When he gets shot opportunities in the paint, he is an athletic above the rim finisher who is very poised.
On defense, he shows potential guarding in space and moving his feet well giving him the ability at times to be a switchable defender. His main skillset is rim protection and shot blocking. He has length, timing, and instincts as a shot blocker. He is disciplined jumping straight up vertically without fouling.
Lewis Uvwo
Position: C
Height: 6 Feet 10 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2027
Uncommitted
Lewis Uvwo is a traditional big. He operates in the post having the size and physicality to get deep post positioning and create advantages against smaller defenders. He shows footwork getting into a hook shot he can finish over both shoulders. He seals off defenders to get high-percentage shots in the paint, finishing athletic dunks on catch and finish opportunities. At times, he loses balance and body control in the post when opposing teams get into his hips. In the pick and roll as a roll man he uses his quickness and mobility to roll to the rim when he gets touches to score. He can free up the pick and roll ball-handler for quality shots with his hard screen-setting ability and ability to force switches, which makes him someone who gets a good amount of screen assists. He can cut to the rim and play out of the dunker's spot moving quickly and fluidly at his size to get to the open space. He is quick and explosive as a rim running big getting down the floor. He is a lob threat with good hands.
His size advantage at the high school level makes him a natural rebounder that teams can't keep off the glass. He can create extra possessions and second-chance opportunities by grabbing offensive rebounds and he limits extra possessions and second-chance opportunities for the opposing team by grabbing defensive rebounds. He converts putbacks using his quick jumping ability and being an above the rim finisher.
On the defensive end, he shows his shot blocking ability by quickly rotating from the weak side and swatting shots when his teammates have defensive lapses and get beat. He has timing, instincts, and covers a lot of ground when blocking shots. He keeps the ball in play when blocking shots, allowing his team to create offense on runout opportunities in transition. He struggles to defend in space when a switch happens against a quick explosive guard. He lacks the footspeed to move laterally in that situation making him prone to blow bys and allowing high-percentage shots in the paint. He is slow on rotations and closing out to three-point shooters allowing them to get high-percentage catch and shoot three-pointers.
Alex Smith
Position: F
Height: 6 Feet 9 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2026
Committed to Ohio State University
Alex Smith's main draw is his ability to shoot as a tall forward in catch and shoot situations. He has a quick release and fluid shooting mechanics. He is shot ready and doesn't hesitate. He spaces the floor for his teammates, allowing them to play to their strengths in the paint and giving them room to operate inside. When defenders closeout on him from the three-point line, he puts the ball on the floor and gets to the rim. He plays at a slow pace attacking closeouts with poise and control. He does well playing off 2 feet in this situation and gets defenders to bite on shot fakes, which gives him higher-percentage shots in the paint. He has a high motor on the offensive glass chasing loose long rebounds and tipping them out to teammates so they can reset the possession.
On the defensive end, he is quick on rotations and closing out to three-point shooters using his size and length to force a lower percentage catch and shoot three-pointer. He can also hold his own defensively moving laterally and using his physicality to avoid getting blown by, take away driving lanes, and limit touches in the paint. He forces tough long twos from the mid-range.
Nasir Anderson
Position: G
Height: 6 Feet 4 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2027
Uncommitted
Nasir Anderson is a slashing guard with a quick and explosive first step to blow by defenders. He can operate in transition as a ball-handler and leak-out guy. As a leak-out man, he gets down the floor quickly and shows more control and better footwork with crafty finishing than when he is handling the ball. He has the strength and frame to absorb contact and play through it or bump off defenders and create separation without committing an offensive foul. He does well stopping in the paint and playing off 2 feet which he should implement more consistently. As a catch and shoot three-point shooter he has a quick release but inconsistent shooting mechanics. He has lift and elevates off the ground jumping high on his shot. He needs to get his shot higher and add more backspin as sometimes it comes off flat. At times, he has a narrow base with his feet too close together. An improvement area for him is at times he can play at a really fast pace causing him to be out of control with a looser handle, overdribbling through traffic, and losing body control when getting to the rim resulting in a tough off-balance shot.
As a facilitator, he gets deep in the paint, attracts multiple defenders, and finds shooters for catch and shoot threes or executes a dump-off pass to the big cutting to the rim. He can make athletic passes in mid-air making it easier to pass through length and pressure.
On defense, he is a bigger more physical guard with a strong frame picking up ball-handlers from the backcourt, applying resistance, and wearing them out as they advance the ball. He has defensive lateral quickness and cuts off driving lanes to the rim defending in one on one isolation situations. He is a high motor player who goes for loose balls and 50-50 balls.
Draydne McDaniel
Position: F
Height: 6 Feet 7 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2029
Uncommitted
Draydne McDaniel is a player early in his high school years. He isn't developed offensively and has his impact on the defensive end. He is effective at walling up in the post. He uses his strength and physicality to prevent deep post positioning. He has the length to force tough contested shots. When guarding in space he moves his feet well and takes away driving lanes. He anticipates and gets steals and deflections allowing him to create offense from his defense.
Offensively in his limited role, he gets opportunities within the flow of the offense. He creates opportunities for himself crashing the glass and getting putbacks in the half-court or in transition leaking out quickly down the floor to get easy shots. When shooting catch and shoot threes in transition and in the half-court they are mostly threes from the corner. He has a slight hitch, an excessive dip when shooting, and awkward shooting mechanics which makes him an inefficient three-point shooter. When he gets more opportunities and playing time, he shows flashes of being a ball-handler in transition changing speed and direction and using his big frame to shield off defenders taking it the length of the court to the rim. To be more effective in transition with the ball in his hands, the next step in his development is to get a tighter handle.
Joel Mokweza
Position: C
Height: 6 Feet 10 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2026
Uncommitted
Joel Mokweza is a big who fights for positioning, seals off smaller defenders, and gets catch and finish opportunities playing back to the basket. He doesn't get stagnant; moves from one side of the baseline to the other to get post up opportunities or he finds the open space and operates as a backdoor cutter where he is an athletic above the rim finisher. In transition, he is a rim running big. He has the quickness to get down the floor but lacks fluidity and is stiff.
He is effective as a rebounder with his size and by keeping the ball high he makes it harder for smaller players to strip it and regain possession. He can rebound in transition following his teammates' misses and he has a nice finishing touch in the paint.
Aaron Ona-Embo
Position: G
Height: 6 Feet 2 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2027
Uncommitted
Aaron Ona-Embo is an off-ball 2 guard operating as a catch and shoot three-point shooter. He has a quick release, fluid shooting mechanics, and the lift and elevation to get his shot over contests. At times within the flow of the offense, he shows flashes of being a pick and roll ball-handler and getting to his spot for a pull-up shot off the dribble. As a slasher to the rim, he shows flashes of changing speed and directions and is low on his drives making it tougher for defenders to stay in front of him. He can start drives slow and explode as he gets closer to the rim. He is a crafty finisher in the paint with good footwork.
On the defensive end, he picks up ball-handlers from the backcourt applying resistance, wearing them down, and making it tough for them to advance the ball. He can force turnovers with his quick, strong, and active hands and create offense for his teammates in transition. In one on one isolation situations, he competes and tries to make shots tougher moving well laterally and getting a hand up to contest the shot. He is quick on rotations and closing out on three-point shooters forcing them into tougher lower-percentage shots.
Emmanuel Jamgbadi
Position: C
Height: 6 Feet 8 Inches
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2026
Committed to Brown University
Emmanuel Jamgbadi is an undersized big with activity on the glass. He can grab extra possessions and second-chance opportunities. He jumps high for rebounds, gains an interior positioning advantage, keeps the ball high, and has good hands to maintain possession. He has a nice finishing touch in the paint when going for putbacks. Another skillset he has is operating in the post. He is able to get deep post positioning and use his size, strength, physicality, and footwork to back smaller defenders down and finish in the paint. He sets picks for his teammates and generates switches for the pick and roll ball-handler that they can take advantage of. He is stiff rolling to the rim in the pick and roll and cutting to the rim but has the size and athleticism to finish inside.
Theo Gerges
Position: G
Height: 6 Feet 1 Inch
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2026
Uncommitted
Theo Gerges is an off-ball guard who is constantly moving without the ball, relocating along the three-point line, and finding the open space for catch and shoot three-pointers. He gets looks off his teammates' dribble penetration and drive and kick. He has a quick release, fluid shooting mechanics, and a high release point for his size getting his shots over bigger defenders. He is shot ready and doesn't hesitate. He mostly operates as a corner shooter.
On the defensive end, he has active hands to force opposing teams into turnovers. Despite his lack of size, he is quick on rotations and closes out on three-point shooters with high energy trying to take away clean looks. His lack of size lets taller shooters shoot over him and makes it hard to contest shots.
Breydan Worth
Position: G
Height: 6 Feet 1 Inch
Team: Prolific Prep
Class: 2027
Uncommitted
Breydan Worth lacks the quickness and explosiveness to keep up with the pace as a guard, so he has to operate as a trail guy in transition catching and shooting threes. He has a quick release and fluid shooting mechanics.
